DESCRIPTION:St. Clair Women’s Volleyball Hosting Playoff Saturday\nThe St. Clair women’s volleyball team will be hosting a home playoff crossover qualifier on Saturday\, February 8.\nThe Saints will be taking on the George Brown Huskies at 2:00 pm at the Sportsplex. The winner will advance to the OCAA Quarterfinals on February 15. \nSt. Clair ended the regular season with a record of 16 wins and 2 loses and in 2nd place in the OCAA West. The Saints are currently ranked 2nd in Ontario and 11th in Canada. \nThe Saints won 49 sets and lost 15 in their 18 regular season games. George Brown had a regular season record of 6-12 and ended up 7th in the OCAA East Division. The Huskies won 24 sets and lost 39 in their 18 regular season matches. \nThe Saints were led this season offensively by third year middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Marantha) who was third in the OCAA West with 4.3 points/set and second in the entire OCAA with a kill percentage of .412. Third year setter Emma Clements (Windsor; Holy Names) had a great season as well coming in 4th in the OCAA with 8.04 assists per set.

SUMMARY:St. Clair Basketball Regular Season Finale
DESCRIPTION:St. Clair Basketball Hosts Redeemer Saturday in Regular Season Finale\nThe St. Clair College Basketball teams finish their OCAA West Division regular season schedules Saturday night when they host Redeemer University (Ancaster) as part of a busy day at the SportsPlex.  The Women tip at 6:00pm followed by the Men’s game at 8:00pm.  Admission is free for the basketball doubleheader compliments of the St. Clair Alumni Association which takes place after the Women’s Volleyball crossover playoff matchup against George Brown at 2:00pm.  The Saints will be recognizing their graduating basketball players before each game as well as the golf and cross-country grads at halftime of the Women’s game. \nThe St. Clair Women (5-10) are ranked #9 in this week’s OCAA provincial poll and need a win over Redeemer (4-11) to hold onto 6th Place in the West which will determine their crossover playoff opponent from the East Division being played next weekend.  In their other matchup with Redeemer three months ago\, the Saints lost 65-61 in Ancaster.  \nSt. Clair is led in scoring by 3rd year transfer guard Kaelyn Batten (Windsor\, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) who sits 6th in the province at 15.0ppg to go with 5.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game adding a team best 2.2 steals per contest.  Batten is also logging over 35 minutes a game and converts nearly 72% of her free throws which is top 10 in both of those OCAA categories. 4th year guard Shae-Lyn Murphy (Windsor\, ON/Holy Names) is also not short on playing time with over 38 minutes per game (OCAA 3rd) and leads the Saints in rebounding (6.9) and assists (4.2) per game while netting 11.1ppg. \nThe St. Clair Men (15-2) remain in 2nd Place of the West Division as the OCAA’s #2 ranked team and hold #6 spot in the national poll.  The Saints got by Redeemer (3-13) by a score of 109-97 in Ancaster on Nov. 8th. \n4th year transfer guard Jacob Masters (Toronto\, ON) and 4th year forward Mazin Tiea (Windsor\, ON/Kennedy) both average an identical 16.3ppg for St. Clair which is 10th and 11th respectively in the province.  Tiea likes to do his work around the basket and is 3rd in field goal conversion at 60.7% adding 9.0rpg (OCAA 5th) and has the most OCAA blocks at 3.0 per game.  In contrast\, Masters sets up shop far from the hoop making the most triples in the league with the 7th best rate of success making over 40% from distance and adds 2.6 assists per game.  St. Clair’s 3rd year transfer guard Kyle Brown-Fazekas (Windsor\, ON/Kennedy) averages 13.3ppg along with 5.0 rebounds per contest.  3rd year transfer swing player Amari Frye (Ypsilanti\, MI) is the top assist man in the province at 5.4 per game and nets 11.6ppg for the Saints and adds 4.2 rebounds a game.  \nThe evening will also feature an official unveiling of a new ‘Saints Wall of Honour’ at the SportsPlex which will be presented at halftime of the Men’s game.  The list of all-time St. Clair College student-athlete performers who will be honoured are listed below. \n\nJohn Moore – Hockey\nHenry Koscielski – Men’s Basketball\nSandra Meisel – Badminton\nDebbie Cowgill – Women’s Basketball\nBeth Brannagan – Women’s Volleyball\nJimmy Parsons – Men’s Basketball\nLindsay Verkoeyen – Softball\nRob Malbasic – Men’s Soccer\nAlexa Georgiou – Softball\nJason Hernandez – Men’s Volleyball\nKyle Breitner – Baseball\nShannon Kennedy – Women’s Basketball\nTyler Jones – Cross Country

DESCRIPTION:St. Clair Men’s Basketball Hosts Fleming Saturday in Playoff Crossover\nFor the first time since 2009 the St. Clair College Basketball team (16-2\, West 2nd Place) will face Fleming College (Peterborough) in the post-season. The Saints host the Phoenix Saturday in a playoff crossover game which tips at 3:30pm in the SportsPlex. \nThis past year the Saints tied their 3rd greatest regular season win total in program history and achieved their 5th highest winning percentage (.889) since the 1980-81 season. St. Clair is currently the OCAA’s #2 ranked team and moved up to #4 in most recent CCAA National poll. \n4th year transfer guard Jacob Masters (Toronto\, ON) is the 8th leading scorer in the province topping the Saints with a 17.1ppg average while making the most triples in the league (65) with the 2nd best conversion rate at nearly 42% from deep. 4th year forward Mazin Tiea (Windsor\, ON/Kennedy) finished with a 16.1ppg for St. Clair which is 10th in the OCAA but was 2nd in field goal percentage (62%)\, 5th in rebounding (8.7 per game) and led the league in blocked shots with 46 (2.9 per game). St. Clair’s 3rd year transfer guard Kyle Brown-Fazekas (Windsor\, ON/Kennedy) nets 13.1ppg along with 4.9 rebounds per contest while fellow 3rd year transfer swing player Amari Frye (Ypsilanti\, MI) led the province in assists at 5.7 per game and scores 11.6ppg for the Saints adding 4.2 rebounds a game. 5th year swing player Darnelle Peddie (Pickering\, ON) rounds out St. Clair’s double-digit scorers with an even 10.0 per game to go with 3.3 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. \nFleming finished 7th in in the East Division with a 5-13 record and reached the OCAA post-season for the first time since 2011. \n

The Saints are currently ranked 2nd in Ontario and 11th in Canada. \nThe Saints won 49 sets and lost 15 in their 18 regular season games. La Cite had a regular season record of 13-5 and ended up 3rd in the OCAA East Division. The Coyotes won 42 sets and lost 19 in their 18 regular season matches. La Cite is ranked 4th in Ontario. \nThe Saints were led this season offensively by third year middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Maranatha Christian Academy) who was third in the OCAA West with 4.3 points/set and second in the entire OCAA with a kill percentage of .412. Huisman was named OCAA West Player of the Year and a CCAA All Canadian on Wednesday. \nSt. Clair Men’s Volleyball Travel to Kitchener for Playoffs\nThe St. Clair men’s volleyball team will be off to Kitchener to take part in the OCAA Quarterfinals on Saturday\, February 15. \nThe Saints will be taking on the Conestoga Condors at 6:00 pm. The winner will advance to the OCAA Championship on February 21-22. \nSt. Clair ended the regular season with a record of 6 wins and 10 loses and in 8th place in the tough OCAA West but upset the 1st place in the East Georgian Grizzlies 3-2 this past Saturday. \nThe Saints won 31 sets and lost 38 in their 18 regular season games. Conestoga had a regular season record of 12-6 and ended up 4th in the OCAA West Division. The Condors won 43 sets and lost 23 in their 18 regular season matches. Conestoga is ranked 5th in Ontario defeating the Saints twice in regular season play. \nThe Saints were led offensively by outside hitter Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) who was fourth in the OCAA West with 3.21 kills/set.
