2018 Funkenhauser Golf Tournament
A Day for a Life – 2018 Funkenhauser Golf Tournament
Devoted and generous are two words that describe Trevor Louis Funkenhauser. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, employee, Detroit sport’s fan and friend. He gave generously of his time and love for all who surrounded him. It is because of these special attributes that we celebrate his life in this Memorial tournament.
On June 30th, 2006, Trevor’s life was cut short . He had a rare bacterial infection that led to a disease, called endocarditis. His aortic valve was destroyed . It led to several strokes and eventually this damage caused his death at the age of 35. Everyone who knew and loved Trevor was totally devastated at his passing. However, through the Trillium program some good was soon to come about.
Trevor’s devotion to helping others was able to be continued as some of his organs were donated to save the lives of three people in desperate need of an organ transplant. It is because of Trevor’s willingness to help others both during his life and after his death that this golf tournament is being held. Its purpose is to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and to give people more knowledge about the importance of organ donation.
Therefore we would like to present the first annual Trevor Funkenhauser Memorial Charity Golf Tournament at the beautiful Kingsville Golf and Country Club. As this is a charity tournament, we ask for your help in supporting a great cause in hopes that we can help others who are incapacitated by heart and stroke ailments. Trevor gave of himself both in life and after his death and we hope to carry on his legacy for years to come.
Enclosed is a Sponsorship package. Please take time to review it. Hopefully, you will find a level of participation that you can assist us with for this great cause.
Finally, remember that Trevor’s generosity has helped keep three people alive. Together, with your generous help, we can continue to make a difference in the fight against heart and stroke disease.
Thank you in advance for considering this worthy cause.
