SUMMARY:Rob & Tricia Morneau Memorial Baseball Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Rob & Tricia Morneau Memorial Baseball Tournament\nThe crack of the bat\, the scent of fresh-cut grass\, and the echo of cheers can only mean one thing — baseball is back in full swing. As players lace up their cleats and coaches finalize lineups\, Riverside is preparing for an event that is about more than just baseball. The annual Rob & Tricia Morneau Memorial Baseball Tournament is set to return\, honouring the memory of two local legends who lived and breathed the spirit of the game — Rob and Tricia Morneau. \nRob Morneau was not just a baseball enthusiast; he was a player\, coach\, mentor\, and passionate community member who believed in the deeper values of sport. A fixture at Riverside Baseball Park\, Rob could often be found on the diamond — chewing bubble gum\, sharing seeds with teammates\, calling games from behind the plate\, and instilling life lessons into his players. For Rob\, baseball was never just a game — it was an opportunity to build\ncharacter\, teach respect\, and\, most importantly\, have fun. It was at that same park where Tricia first saw Rob coaching her younger brother’s high school team and instantly knew he was the one. \nTogether\, Rob and Tricia became beloved figures in the Riverside baseball community. While Rob coached\, Tricia kept score\, organized fundraisers\, and provided the quiet support that held it all together. Their shared love for the game and for each other created a ripple effect that still echoes throughout the community today. \nSince its inception in 2017\, the Rob & Tricia Morneau Memorial Tournament has raised over $33\,000\, with all net proceeds supporting local initiatives such as the Farrow Riverside Miracle Park\, the Miracle League\, and assisting families in need with registration costs for Riverside Minor Baseball and Hockey — continuing Rob and Tricia’s legacy of inclusivity and opportunity for all children. \nThis year’s tournament will feature 18 competitive youth baseball games over three action- packed days between 8 spirited 13U A and Below Division teams. The tournament schedule will be posted on the website. Games will take place at two Riverside diamonds: \n\nRiverside Baseball Park – 6865 Ontario St.\, Windsor\, ON\nRealtor Park – 1200 Homedale Blvd.\, Windsor\, ON\n\nOpening ceremonies will kick off Friday\, June 20th at 7:00 p.m. at Riverside Baseball Park\, with the first games starting earlier that evening at 4:30 p.m. Miracle Park league games will be played throughout the day on Saturday with an open league play game and BBQ late in the afternoon/early Saturday evening. Get your tournament swag before June 14 on event website. \nWhether you’re playing\, coaching\, or cheering from the sidelines\, attendees are encouraged to honour Rob and Tricia’s memory by embracing the true spirit of the game — play hard\, show respect\, support one another\, and above all\, enjoy every moment with a smile. \nAs Rob himself once said: “When we step between the lines\, we compete.”

SUMMARY:2025 NHL Draft Lottery
DESCRIPTION:2025 NHL Draft Lottery\nThe National Hockey League announced the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery will be held on Monday\, May 5\, at NHL Network’s Secaucus\, N.J.\, studio. The event will be broadcast on ESPN\, Sportsnet and TVA Sports\, at a time to be announced later this week. \nThe 2025 NHL Draft Lottery will determine the order of selection for the first 16 picks in the first round of the 2025 Upper Deck NHL Draft. Participants are all teams that did not qualify for the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs (or the teams that have acquired the first-round drafting positions of those non-playoff teams). \nThe Lottery will be conducted in two phases\, the first to determine the first overall pick in the 2025 Upper Deck NHL Draft and the second to determine the second overall pick. There is a limit on the total number of selections (10) a team participating in the Draft Lottery can “move up” in the event it wins one of the Lottery Draws. Thus\, only the top 11 seeds will be eligible to receive the first overall Draft pick. \nOdds To Win The First Lottery Draw: \n\n\n\nDraft Lottery Participants\n \n\n\n(Fewest Pts. to Most)\n\nOdds \n\n\n\nSan Jose Sharks\n\n18.5% \n\n\n\nChicago Blackhawks\n\n13.5% \n\n\n\nNashville Predators\n\n11.5% \n\n\n\nPhiladelphia Flyers\n\n9.5% \n\n\n\nBoston Bruins\n\n8.5% \n\n\n\nSeattle Kraken\n\n7.5% \n\n\n\nBuffalo Sabres\n\n6.5% \n\n\n\nAnaheim Ducks\n\n6.0% \n\n\n\nPittsburgh Penguins\n\n5.0% \n\n\n\nNew York Islanders\n\n3.5% \n\n\n\nNew York Rangers *\n\n3.0% \n\n\n\nDetroit Red Wings\n\n2.5% \n\n\n\nColumbus Blue Jackets\n\n2.0% \n\n\n\nUtah Hockey Club\n\n1.5% \n\n\n\nVancouver Canucks\n\n0.5% \n\n\n\nCalgary Flames **\n\n0.5% \n\n\n\n\nOdds To Receive The First Overall Pick \n\n\n\nDraft Lottery Participants\n \n\n\n(Fewest Pts. to Most)\n\nOdds \n\n\n\nSan Jose Sharks\n\n25.5% \n\n\n\nChicago Blackhawks\n\n13.5% \n\n\n\nNashville Predators\n\n11.5% \n\n\n\nPhiladelphia Flyers\n\n9.5% \n\n\n\nBoston Bruins\n\n8.5% \n\n\n\nSeattle Kraken\n\n7.5% \n\n\n\nBuffalo Sabres\n\n6.5% \n\n\n\nAnaheim Ducks\n\n6.0% \n\n\n\nPittsburgh Penguins\n\n5.0% \n\n\n\nNew York Islanders\n\n3.5% \n\n\n\nNew York Rangers *\n\n3.0% \n\n\n\nDetroit Red Wings\n\n0.0% \n\n\n\nColumbus Blue Jackets\n\n0.0% \n\n\n\nUtah Hockey Club\n\n0.0% \n\n\n\nVancouver Canucks\n\n0.0% \n\n\n\nCalgary Flames **\n\n0.0%

SUMMARY:St. Clair Men’s Basketball in Etobicoke for Provincial Championship
DESCRIPTION:St. Clair Men’s Basketball in Etobicoke for Provincial Championship\nThe St. Clair College Men’s Basketball team (18-2) is riding an 8-game win streak and have their sights on the top prize at the OCAA Championship which begins with a semi-final game against Durham College (Oshawa) Saturday at 6:00pm. Host Humber Polytechnic meets Georgian College (Barrie) in the earlier semi-final game. The winner of each semi-final game advances to the Gold Medal matchup on Sunday afternoon while the loser of each will play for the Bronze Medal. \nThe Saints have been one of the top four teams in the province for a fourth straight season and finished second in the West Division this year while currently being ranked 2nd in the province and 4th nationally. St. Clair advanced to the provincial semi-final with a 120-63 win over Fleming in the crossover game and a 103-88 victory against Lambton this past weekend. \nThe Lords (19-1) were the East Division Champions while sitting 3rd in the OCAA rankings and hold the 8th spot in the CCAA poll with the 4th best offense in the league (86.4ppg) but their defense stood out giving up under 68 points per game which was 2nd in the OCAA. Durham beat Fanshawe 92-70 in the crossover game before topping Mohawk 98-87 last weekend to advance to their second consecutive final four. \nDurham had several players recognized by the OCAA including 6’6” forward Mark Stoop (Oshawa\, ON) who was named an East Division First Team All-Star\, East Division Player of the Year and a CCAA All-Canadian after scoring 11.0ppg to go with 8.5 rebounds per contest (OCAA 6th). 6’3” guard Jasean Elliott (Toronto\, ON) was also a First Team All-Star and the Defensive Player of the Year in the East Division for the Lords while former Saint 6’0” guard Miles Hall (Toronto\, ON) and 6’5” forward Rashane Smith (Brampton\, ON) were part of the East Division Second Team. Smith and 6’3” guard Javade Marne (Etobicoke\, ON) made the East Division All-Rookie Team while 6’1” guard Rudy Fakih (Toronto\, ON) was the East Division Sixth Man of the Year. \nSt. Clair tied their 3rd best regular season win total (16) in program history and achieved their 5th highest winning percentage (.889) since the 1980-81 season as the OCAA’s top scoring team while averaging nearly 97 points per game. The Saints also held their opponents to 77.3 points per contest which stood 9th in the league. \nIn their only meeting this year the Saints beat Durham 82-77 on Oct. 6th at the SportsPlex in a preseason exhibition game. St. Clair will also be looking to avenge their 82-69 loss to Durham in Oshawa last March at the Provincial Championship which deprived the Saints of an OCAA Bronze Medal. This will also be one of the final opportunities this sport season for points in the St. Clair/Durham Sledgehammer Series. \n4th year forward Mazin Tiea (Windsor\, ON/Kennedy) finished with a 16.1ppg average for the Saints which is 10th in the OCAA but was 2nd in field goal percentage (62%)\, 5th in rebounding (8.7 per game) and led the league in blocked shots with 46 (2.9 per game) earning him West Division Defensive Player of the Year and West Division First-Team All-Star honours. Tiea also became the 6th CCAA All-Canadian in St. Clair Men’s Basketball history. 4th year transfer guard Jacob Masters (Toronto\, ON) was also a West Division First Team All-Star after finishing as the 8th leading scorer in the province topping the Saints with a 17.1ppg average while making the most triples in the league (65) with the 2nd best conversion rate at nearly 42% from deep. St. Clair’s 3rd year transfer guard Kyle Brown-Fazekas (Windsor\, ON/Kennedy) was the final West Division First Team All-Star after scoring 13.1ppg while adding 4.9 rebounds per contest. Fellow 3rd year transfer swing player Amari Frye (Ypsilanti\, MI) led the province in assists at 5.7 per game and scores 11.6ppg for the Saints adding 4.2 rebounds a game. 5th year swing player Darnelle Peddie (Pickering\, ON) rounds out St. Clair’s double-digit scorers with an even 10.0 per game to go with 3.3 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. \nThe Gold and Silver medal winners from the Provincial Championship will qualify for the CCAA National Championship March 12-15 which is being hosted by Vanier College in the Montreal borough of Ville St-Laurent\, QC.
