Tigers vs Angels

As part of the Armed Forces and Veterans Recognition Game, the Detroit Tigers will welcome over 500 service members and Veterans to participate in an on-field, pre-game ceremony. The Tigers also donated over 1,000 tickets to local members of the Armed Forces, Veterans and their families. A Memorial Day ticket package is also available to fans, which includes a Detroit Tigers/Memorial Day themed t-shirt. For more information, please visit tigers.com/memorialday.

Military Veteran’s Program (MVP): Mario Impemba’s salute to those who served – guests from Teams4Taps will be treated to a Detroit Tigers game in a party suite, where they will receive ballpark fare catering, a “MVP” t-shirt and an autographed photo of Tigers broadcaster Mario Impemba.

During all games played over Memorial Day weekend, players and on-field personnel will wear a New Era camouflage-designed cap, with a commemorative side patch featuring five stars to represent the five branches of the United States Armed Forces. In addition, they will wear custom Memorial Day themed jerseys and batting practice fleeces with Stance socks, also sporting the commemorative patch. The licensed royalties from the sales of items connected to Memorial Day will be donated to organizations that directly support children and families grieving the loss of a military loved one.

The Tigers, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, will participate in the National Moment of Remembrance on Memorial Day at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Three ceremonial pitches will be thrown including: Jesus Rivera, representing all veterans, Master Sergeant Jeffrey Barna, representing all active service members and Connor Lamb Cooper, representing all U.S. fallen heroes.

The game ball will be delivered by Senior Airman Tina Meyers, a service member who has recently returned from deployment.

The colors will be presented by The United States Air Force Honor Guard.

The national anthem and God Bless America will be performed by vocalist Amy Gould.
