Detroit City FC 2017 season ticket packages for the upcoming season go on sale on November 25, 2016. Le Rouge to offer premium ticket package in second season at Keyworth Stadium.

Season ticket cards may be purchased at detcityfc.com starting at 10 a.m.

For the first time in team history, DCFC will offer tiered season ticket package options to its supporters. New for 2017, the Gold Card is a premium ticket option which grants entry to every 2017 DCFC home match and event, priority midfield seating at Keyworth Stadium, priority entry to the stadium, as well as parking and a 2017 DCFC scarf.

The Gold Card also grants entry to Detroit’s international friendly scheduled for May 27, 2017. The identity of DCFC’s opponent will be announced on November 26, 2016.

Last season, Le Rouge hosted fan-owned English side FC United of Manchester on May 28, which drew more than 6,400 supporters to Keyworth Stadium.

The premium season ticket card will cost $150.

Supporters also have the option of purchasing the City Card, a season pass which grants general admission access to a minimum of 10 Detroit City FC home matches, including all six of DCFC’s National Premier Soccer League matches and select friendlies at Keyworth Stadium.

City Cards do not grant entry to DCFC’s 2017 international match. Single match ticket prices for that match will be released at a later date.

The City Card is $70 or $85 when purchased with the 2017 City scarf, representing a $10 increase from 2015.

Single match tickets will go on sale in the spring of 2017 and will cost $10 online and at the gate on matchday. Supporters will also have the opportunity to sit in the Gold Section for an additional $5, while tickets last.

DCFC sold more than 2,000 season tickets ahead of its 2016 season, which was the team’s first year at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck.

Detroit City FC 2017 season ticket are the only way for supporters to guarantee entry to 2017 DCFC matches.

This week, Detroit City FC begins distributing $107,000 in revenue sharing checks to investors of the first community investment campaign in American sports history.

The payments will be sent to the 492 investors who participated in the grassroots campaign, which raised funds to rehabilitate Detroit City FC’s new home at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck, MI. The campaign, which launched on October 29, 2015 and closed on February 15, 2016, was open to Michigan residents through the Michigan MILE legislation.

The club aimed to raise between $400,000 and $750,000 through the campaign. The final amount raised was $725,500, making it the largest campaign of its kind in Michigan history.

In total, City’s revenues were up by more than 17 percent from what was projected for the first six months of the year, meaning investors were paid greater than the estimated 10.4 percent internal rate of return for the first payback period.

The community investment campaign was one of many unprecedented business successes for the minor league soccer team in 2016.

• Following the close of the campaign, the team accomplished its rehabilitation of Keyworth Stadium in time for the start of the 2016 season. Rehab of the 80-year-old stadium included major structural improvements to the grandstands, locker rooms, restrooms and lighting. Supporters assisted in bleacher painting, general clean-up and outreach throughout Hamtramck neighborhoods.

• By year end, DCFC’s gross revenue is projected to increase by more than 50 percent compared to 2015.

• City recorded a total attendance of 52,550 supporters in 10 matches at Keyworth. Its average of 5,255 supporters per match was a 48 percent increase from 2015.

• The home opener at Keyworth on May 20, 2016 drew 7,410 supporters, which set the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) regular-season record for attendance.

• Just one week later, City hosted FC United of Manchester, one of the most celebrated supporter-owned clubs in the international soccer community. More than 6,200 supporters were on-hand at the Keyworth Stadium dedication match.

• The team also opened its first-ever brick and mortar retail shop at 2750 Yemans St in Hamtramck. The club shop, which opened on April 22, features a mixed-use office and community space, as well as a full array of DCFC merchandise available for purchase.

“It’s been a remarkable year in terms of the growth of DCFC,” City co-owner Todd Kropp said. “We set extremely ambitious goals for 2016, and with all the supporters who once again rallied behind us we proved that a club that has close ties to its community can be a huge success.

Although we met or exceeded most of our targets for 2016, we are not going to get complacent. We’re already looking at how we can reach an even wider audience for 2017.”

Detroit City FC (3-2-3) enters the most important weekend of its season with momentum on its side. After two consecutive victories at Keyworth – most recently, a 5-0 rout of Dayton Dynamo –City squares off with second-place Grand Rapids FC (4-1-3) and first-place AFC Ann Arbor (5-1-3) on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Two wins this weekend will have Le Rouge in prime position to leap on top of the Great Lakes West table.

In the first match of the weekend, DCFC hosts Grand Rapids under the lights at Keyworth Stadium. Friday’s kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

GRFC won the clubs’ first meeting, 5-2, behind a pair of two goalscorers, Scott Doney and Joe Broekhuizen. City’s scorers were Jeff Adkins (Butler) and Dave Edwardson (Heddon FC).

Head coach Ben Pirmann attributed the disappointing result in Grand Rapids to defensive mistakes.

“We harped on transition defending and we gave up four goals on stupid turnovers and not working hard defensively in recovery,” Pirmann said.

With Omar Sinclair (Saginaw Valley State) and Seb Harris (Oakland) now comfortably paired together as the primary center backs, and Cody Lang (Seattle Pacific) and Nate Steinwascher (Detroit Mercy) sharing the goalkeeping duties, things have been much tidier at the back for Le Rouge recently.

On offense, City has seen stand-out performances from its midfield and attacking corps. Tommy Catalano (Oakland) scored in each of City’s last three home matches, notching two goals in the win over Dayton.

Then on Sunday, City heads to Ann Arbor for a 6 p.m. kickoff and rematch with AFC Ann Arbor, who DCFC faced in its home opener on May 20. That match ended in a 1-1 draw. Alec Lasinski (Loyola University Chicago) scored City’s lone goal, which also happened to be the first-ever goal at Keyworth Stadium. City were forced to play with 10 men for the majority of the match after a Brett Nason (Michigan) red card in the 47th minute.

Pirmann praised his team’s effort that night.

“There’s no credit taken away from (Ann Arbor) whatsoever, but, you know, we played 45 minutes down a man and absolutely took it to them,” he said.  “We had chances, possession. I was surprised at how well we played there in the second half.”

As City heads into the final stretch of the season, every match is a must-win to keep playoff hopes alive.
