The St Clair women’s volleyball team traveled to Oshawa this past weekend to take part in the Adidas Cup Tournament hosted by Durham College.

The St Clair Saints had a successful weekend placing third out of 14 teams in the event.

On Saturday, in round robin play St Clair defeated Mohawk 2-0, lost to Niagara 0-2, tied Canadore 1-1, and beat Centennial 2-0.

On Sunday, the Saints completed round robin play by tieing George Brown 1-1 and defeating Georgian 2-0.  St. Clair ended round play with a record of 8 game wins and 4 game losses which was good enough for second place in their pool. This set up a best 2 out of 3 match for third place with Algonquin College from Ottawa. The Saints ended up defeating the Thunder by a score of 2-1. Game scores for St. Clair 17-25, 25-23 and 15-9. Helen Wiebe was named a Tournament All-Star.

The St. Clair women are next in action when they open the second half of their OCAA regular season schedule by hosting the Redeemer Royals on Saturday, January 9th at 1 pm at the St. Clair Sportsplex.
