The University of Windsor Lancers Department of Athletics has hired Jimmy El-Turk as the new head coach of the Lancer women’s volleyball program.

An accomplished and experienced collegiate coach, El-Turk previously spent seven seasons at St. Clair College as the women’s volleyball head coach where he led the Saints program to a pair of OCAA bronze medals in 2018 and 2020. He compiled a regular season record of 83-34 (W-L) and was named the OCAA West Division Coach of the Year twice (2019 & 2020) and the overall OCAA Coach of the Year in 2019.

“We are excited to welcome Jimmy as our new head coach of Lancer women’s volleyball,” said Director of Athletics Stephanie White. “He is equipped to build a championship-caliber culture and lead our student-athletes on and off the court. He has built a strong coaching resume with success at every level, including St. Clair College, SKY Volley, and with our men’s volleyball program. We trust that with his deep roots in the Windsor volleyball community and history of success that Jimmy can set a high standard and elevate our women’s volleyball program.”

Nationally, El-Turk has served as the Canadian women’s youth national team assistant coach from 2018-21, winning NORCECA silver in 2018 to earn a world championship berth for the first time in 31 years. He was also the head coach for Team Ontario women at the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.

“I am extremely honoured and excited for this opportunity,” said El-Turk. “I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our student-athletes, with our campus and local community and with our alumni as strive to provide an outstanding experience both on and off the court. I can’t wait to get started.”

Most recently, Jimmy served as an assistant coach with the Lancer men’s volleyball program where he helped the Lancers earn OUA silver medals in both 2024-25 and 2025-26. He also helped the Lancers reach the national semi-finals and earn a program-best fourth-place finish at the 2026 U SPORTS National Championship in Windsor. He was named the University of Windsor’s Eddi Chittaro Assistant Coach of the Year in 2025-26 for his outstanding coaching contributions to the program.

Also a key contributor in the local Windsor-Essex community, El-Turk founded the SKY Volley junior program in 2015 with the purpose of developing athletes for post-secondary volleyball. He also serves as the high-performance coordinator for the South County Bandits girls volleyball program in Windsor-Essex County.

A graduate of the University of Windsor and former Lancer student-athlete, El-Turk earned his Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree in Sport Management in 2012 and his master’s degree in Human Kinetics in 2014.​He played with the Lancer men’s volleyball program from 2006-2008 and 2010-2012.

The St. Clair College Athletic Department has announced Greg Simone as the new Varsity Men’s Volleyball Head Coach.

Simone is a former five year USport athlete where he played for four years at the University of Windsor and one year at the University of Waterloo. He also has extensive playing experience playing beach volleyball for Team Ontario.

Simone has recently spent the last few years as a Head Coach with the Sky Volley Club coaching several boy’s teams. He also has experience with the Forest City Volleyball Club and the KW Predator Volleyball Club. Prior to that he was an assistant coach with the University of Waterloo after his playing career.
Simone was born and raised in London where he attended London Central Secondary School before going to the University of Windsor.

Simone is eager to take over the Saints program. “I am truly honoured to step into the role of Head Coach for the St. Clair College men’s volleyball program. This is an incredible opportunity to lead a dedicated group of student-athletes, and I am excited to get to work. Together we will build a program that competes for OCAA Championships while creating a winning culture both on and off the court.”

Director of Athletics and Recreation Reid Innes is pleased to add Simone to the Saints coaching roster. “We’re excited to welcome Coach Simone to Saints Athletics. He comes to St. Clair College sharing our approach to prepare student-athletes for success in competition, academics, and life beyond our campus. I believe his experiences as a player and coach position him to do just that. We look forward to this new path for our Men’s Volleyball team.”

For the second straight year the St. Clair Saints women’s volleyball team had to settle for OCAA Silver after a heartbreaking defeat in the Gold Medal match at the OCAA Championship in King City on Saturday night.

In an outstanding back and forth match, the Saints fell 3-2 to the Humber Hawks. St. Clair went up 2-0 with some solid play but the momentum flipped in the third set with the Hawks winning the next three sets to take the match. Set scores for Humber were 22-25, 20-25, 25-14, 25-21, and 15-11.

It was the fifth consecutive Championship for the Hawks while the Saints were seeking their first Gold since 1997. With the win, Humber advances to the CCAA National Championship in Manitoba. St. Clair had defeated the Hawks twice during the regular season but couldn’t pull off the third and most important.

Setter Emma Clements was named the player of the game for the Saints while Kiana Huggins and Brianne Hobbin were named Championship All Stars.

It was an outstanding season for the Saints as they finished with a final record of 17-3 and winning the OCAA West Division for the first time since 1997. It was the women’s volleyball program fourth OCAA Medal in the last 8 seasons.

The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced that Shawn Reaume will be stepping down as the head coach of the men’s volleyball program at the end of the season.

Reaume is in his 6th season as Head Coach. Since he took over the program in 2019, the Saints have compiled a regular season record of 40-51. Under his leadership the Saints men have qualified for the playoffs in 4 of 5 seasons, including advancing to the OCAA Championship last season. The men are currently 6-6 this season and on track to make the playoffs once again.

He was named the OCAA West Division Coach of the Year and Overall Coach of the year in 2023-24. Reaume coached multiple OCAA and CCAA All Stars and academic award winners during his time with the Saints.

“Coach Reaume has had a lasting impact on our St. Clair College men’s volleyball team. His commitment and leadership have led to success in competition while establishing a foundation the program can continue to build on. More importantly, he has helped to position our Saints student athletes for success beyond the court. The process to identify the next men’s volleyball head coach will be announced at a later date.

The Saints volleyball teams wrap up their regular season home schedules on Sunday when they host Sheridan on Senior Day. The women play at 2 pm followed by the men at 4 pm.
