DETROIT PISTONS ACQUIRE JOHN COLLINS, TAUREAN PRINCE AND GARY HARRIS IN SIX-TEAM TRADE

The Detroit Pistons have acquired forward John Collins from the Los Angeles Clippers and forward Taurean Prince and guard Gary Harris from the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a six-team trade. Detroit also received three future second round draft picks from the Memphis Grizzlies in the deal.

As part of the six-team trade, Detroit sent center Isaiah Stewart to Memphis, guard Caris LeVert to Milwaukee and guard Marcus Sasser to Dallas. The Pistons also sent two future second round picks to Milwaukee and one future second round pick to Los Angeles. The six-team trade involved Detroit, Dallas, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis, Milwaukee and Washington.

Collins, 6’9”, 226, spent the 2025-26 season with the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 13.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists while shooting 55.2% from the field and 40.6% from the 3-point line. Across nine NBA seasons, Collins has averaged 15.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Originally selected 19th overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2017 NBA Draft out of Wake Forest, Collins has appeared in 541 career games for the Hawks, Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers. In his rookie season with Atlanta, Collins was named to the 2018 NBA All-Rookie Second Team. He has appeared in 29 career playoff games, averaging 12.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game across three postseason appearances.

Prince, 6’6”, 218, spent the 2025-26 season with the Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 9.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 45.0% from the field and 43.6% from 3-point range. A 10-year NBA veteran, Prince has averaged 9.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in 608 career games for the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers and Bucks. Originally selected 12th overall by the Utah Jazz in the 2016 NBA Draft out of Baylor University, Prince has appeared in 26 career playoff games, averaging 6.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game across five postseason appearances.

Harris, 6’4”, 210, spent the 2025-26 season with the Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 2.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 41.2% from the 3-point line in 48 games. A 12-year NBA veteran, Harris has averaged 9.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game on 37% shooting from behind-the-arc after being selected 19th overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Michigan State University. Following a draft night trade, Harris appeared in 666 career games for the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Bucks. Harris has appeared in 39 career playoff games, averaging 8.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game across four postseason appearances.

Stewart, originally selected 16th overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2020 NBA Draft out of the University of Washington, appeared in 365 career games across six seasons with Detroit, averaging 8.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. Last season, Stewart appeared in 58 games for the Pistons and averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 55.0% from the field and was named Eastern Conference Defensive Player of the Month for games in December.

LeVert spent one season with the Pistons, averaging 7.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 41.7% from the field and 33.3% from the 3-point line. Across 10 NBA seasons, LeVert has averaged 13.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Originally selected 20th overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 2016 NBA Draft out of the University of Michigan.

Sasser averaged 7.0 points and 2.7 assists across 166 career games with the Pistons. He was originally drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies 25th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft and was acquired by Detroit in a multi-team trade on draft night. Sasser played collegiately at the University of Houston where he was named a 2023 First-Team All-American and American Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

PISTONS ACQUIRE GUARD ISAIAH JOE FROM OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER

The Detroit Pistons have acquired guard Isaiah Joe from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for two future second-round draft picks.

Joe, 6-4, 165, a six-year NBA veteran, posted a career-best campaign in 2025-26, averaging 11.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 46% from the field and 42% from three-point range across 71 games. Joe ranked fifth among all NBA players in 3-pointers off the bench last season, knocking down 157 threes.

A native of Fort Smith, Ark., Joe was selected 49th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers out of Arkansas in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft. He spent two seasons with the 76ers before arriving in Oklahoma City ahead of the 2022-23 season. In four seasons with the Thunder, Joe averaged 9.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Joe has appeared in 55 career playoff games across five postseasons, including Oklahoma City’s 2025 championship run, while averaging 4.4 points and 1.3 rebounds in playoff games.

PISTONS SIGN GUARD EBUKA OKORIE AND CENTER UGONNA ONYENSO

The Detroit Pistons have also signed rookie guard Ebuka Okorie and center Ugonna Onyenso. Onyenso was signed to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Okorie, 6-1, 186, was selected with the 17th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. He led the ACC in scoring as a freshman, averaging 23.2 points per game for the Stanford Cardinal, becoming the first Cardinal to do so since Landry Fields in 2009-10. Okorie also averaged 3.6 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 35.1 minutes per game across 31 appearances as a freshman. He ranked third among all freshmen in scoring and tied for the most 30-point games of any freshman nationally with eight, matching the ACC freshman record previously held by Duke’s Marvin Bagley III. His 719 points last season marked the second-most in Stanford history for a freshman and third-most overall in a single season in program history.

A native of Nashua, N.H., Okorie broke Stanford’s freshman single-game scoring record three times, capped by a 40-point performance against Georgia Tech that made him one of just six freshmen in ACC history to score 40 in a game. After originally committing to Harvard, Okorie stepped into the Cardinal’s starting lineup and earned First Team All-ACC and ACC All-Freshman Team honors. Okorie will be the second player in Stanford program history to join the Detroit Pistons franchise, along with former NBA scoring champion George Yardley.

Onyenso, 6-11, 237, was selected with the 53rd overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. He averaged 6.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 blocks across 36 contests while shooting 56.8% from the field and 72.7% from the free throw line for the Virginia Cavaliers last season. Onyenso led the ACC and ranked second nationally in blocks (2.9 per game) last season in 18.6 minutes per game. His efforts earned him a spot on the ACC All-Defensive Team and the ACC All-Tournament First Team as the Cavaliers advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

A native of Owerri, Nigeria, Onyenso became the youngest player ever to suit up for the Nigerian national team at 17-years-old. The Owerri-born center spent three years at the NBA Academy Africa in Senegal before relocating to Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, where he averaged 13.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game. Following high school, Onyenso committed to Kentucky as a five-star recruit. After two seasons in Lexington and one year at Kansas State, Onyenso committed to Virginia for his senior year.

PISTONS ACQUIRE DRAFT RIGHTS TO EBUKA OKORIE

National Basketball Coaches Association Announces 2026 Michael H. Goldberg NBCA Coach of the Year Award Voted Annually By 30 NBA Head Coaches

The National Basketball Coaches Association have announced that Detroit Pistons Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff is the 2026 recipient of the Michael H. Goldberg NBCA Coach of the Year Award.

The Michael H. Goldberg NBCA Coach of the Year Award recognizes the dedication, commitment, and hard work of NBA head coaches and is presented annually to a head coach who helped guide his players to a higher level of performance on-the-court and showed outstanding service and dedication to the community off-the-court. It honors the spirit of Mr. Goldberg, the esteemed long-time Executive Director of the NBCA, who set the standard for loyalty, integrity, love of the game, passionate representation, and tireless promotion of NBA coaching. The award is unique in that it is voted upon by the winners’ peers, the head coaches of all 30 NBA teams.

In total, seven head coaches received votes, reflecting the depth of coaching excellence in the NBA this season. In addition to Bickerstaff, the following head coaches also received votes [listed alphabetically]: Mark Daigneault, Oklahoma City Thunder; Mitch Johnson, San Antonio Spurs; Charles Lee, Charlotte Hornets; Joe Mazzulla, Boston Celtics; Quin Snyder, Atlanta Hawks; and Tiago Splitter, Portland Trail Blazers.

“I’m extremely honored to receive this recognition from my coaching peers,” said Detroit Pistons Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff. “None of this is possible without the many people I’ve been blessed with along my journey, beginning with my dad, who has always been my inspiration for wanting to get into this profession, and my family for their love and support. Coach Bickerstaff, in his second season as Head Coach of the Pistons, led the team to the best record in the Eastern Conference and the third-best overall record in the NBA.

The Pistons captured their first 60-win season since the 2005-2006 campaign and notched 32 wins at home and a franchise-record 28 road wins. The Bickerstaff-led Pistons finished with an overall record of 60-22, a 16-game improvement from last season, and the team’s third-best mark in franchise history. Bickerstaff became the first head coach in NBA history to take a franchise from 60 losses to 60 wins in a two-season span. This season, Bickerstaff also became the third fastest coach to reach 100 wins in franchise history (159 games).

Coach Bickerstaff was named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for October/November and was selected as the head coach of the Eastern Conference (Team USA Stars) at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game where he coached the squad to a win.

Bickerstaff has transformed the Pistons into one of the most dominant and aggressive forces in the paint on both sides of the ball. The Pistons led the league in points in the paint (57.9) and blocks per game (6.4). Detroit was also the only team to rank top five in both offensive and defensive points allowed in the paint. Additionally, the Pistons ranked top three in numerous statistical categories, including:

• First in blocks per game (6.4)
• First in steals per game (10.4)
• First in offensive points in the paint (57.9)
• Second in defensive rating (108.9)
• Second in net rating (8.4)
• Third in free throws attempted (26.1)
• Third in plus minus (8.2)
• Third in offensive rebounds per game (13.1)

Bickerstaff is extremely deserving of this award and the recognition from his fellow Head Coaches,” said David Fogel, NBCA Executive Director and General Counsel. “This season Coach Bickerstaff has shown the ultimate dedication to the coaching profession. Not only has he guided the Pistons to one of the best seasons in franchise history, but his coaching peers also elected him as the sixth President in NBCA history. In 1980, just four years after the NBCA was founded, Goldberg became its first Executive Director. He guided the organization during the years of the greatest growth in professional basketball. He helped gain significant benefits for NBA Coaches, including increased retirement funds, salary levels, and disability insurance. Prior to the NBCA, Goldberg was General Counsel of the American Basketball Association.

PISTONS’ CUNNINGHAM AND LAKERS’ DONČIĆ ELIGIBLE FOR 2025-26 NBA AWARDS

The NBA and National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) have agreed, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), that Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham and Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić are eligible for all annual awards for the 2025-26 NBA regular season.

Cunningham played in 63 qualified games due in part to missing 12 games as a result of a collapsed lung that was diagnosed on March 17. Dončić played in 64 qualified games due in part to missing two games to attend the birth of his daughter in Slovenia. The NBA and NBPA agreed that, taking into account the totality of the circumstances for Cunningham and Dončić, each player qualified for awards under the extraordinary circumstances provision in the CBA.

Additionally, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, who played in 60 qualified games, filed an extraordinary circumstances challenge under the CBA, seeking award eligibility before an independent arbitrator. Edwards’ challenge was denied and, as a result, he is not eligible for annual awards for the 2025-26 NBA regular season.
