Indy Go-Kart Racing for Huntington Disease
The Windsor-Essex County chapter of the Huntington Society of Canada will be gearing up for a unique and family friendly fundraiser the “Indy Go-Kart Challenge for Huntington Disease”. Even people affected by Huntington Disease (HD) will zip around the track to try and finish first. It’s better than NASCAR! Participants are also eligible for door prizes and can take part in silent auctions and 50/50 draws. Last year we raised second record of $16,700. Help us beat that record. HD is a debilitating brain disorder that is fatal and incurable and is best described as having Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Schizophrenia at the same time. About 1 in every 7,000 Canadians has HD and approximately 1 in every 5,500 is at-risk of developing the disease. Every child born to a parent with HD has a 50% chance of sharing the same fate. We’ve never been closer to eliminating the disease.
Cost: Donation or by collecting pledges.
