Russia 7, Switzerland 4 – Rogers Arena, Vancouver

  • Dmitri Samorukov, Vitali Kravtsov, Grigori Denisenko and Alexander Alexeyev had a goal and an assist apiece to lead the unbeaten Russians, who trailed 2-0 midway through the first period and 3-2 midway through the second before pulling away with a four-goal third.
  • Marco Lehmann scored twice for Switzerland, which also got a goal and an assist each from Yannick Bruschweiler and Valentin Nussbaumer.

Slovakia 11, Kazakhstan 2 – Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, Victoria

  • Andrej Kollar scored a hat trick and Adam Ruzicka and Marcel Dlugos netted two goals each to lead the offence for Slovakia, which scored twice in the first minute and six times in the first period en route to its first win.
  • Artur Gatiyatov had both goals for Kazakhstan, which was outshot 47-18.
