Leamington Flyers Blasts Off Into Playoffs Against Rockets
After finishing first place in the GOJHL’s Western Conference, the Leamington Flyers now turn their sights to the post season, starting with a quarterfinal matchup against the Strathroy Rockets.
The Flyers ended the regular season with a conference best 36-12-0-0 record and will have home ice advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs.
Their first round opponent, the Strathroy Rockets, finished 8th with a 13-29-2-4 record in the regular season.
Leamington swept the season series against the Rockets, claiming victory in all six games they faced off together. The Flyers scored 30 goals in those six games, allowing only 11.
