St. Clair Saints Men’s Soccer Add Local Recruits
The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and men’s soccer program has announced the commitment of three top local recruits for the 2022-23 season. The men that will be joining the program are Moussa Nizam, Zain Nizam and Riley Drkulec.
Moussa and Zain are twin brothers who are Windsor natives where they attended Kennedy Collegiate High School. While at Kennedy the team finished second in WECSSA in 2019.
Moussa was the top goal scorer for Kennedy and in the league during the regular season. Moussa was also named to the WECSSAA All Star team in 2018 and 2019. He will be taking the 3 year Business Administration Accounting Program.
Zain was the top goal scorer for Kennedy during their playoff run in 2019. Zain will be taking the two year Business Marketing Program at St. Clair.
Both forwards, who have great size at 6’0, also played club soccer for the FC Nationals and Liverpool Academy. With Liverpool they enjoyed some great team success including league winners and playoff champions.
“The Nizam brothers will provide strong attack on the wings and in the striker positions. They both have very good technical and physical attributes which we are looking to incorporate into a strong returning group on offence,” stated Head Coach Mike Baraslievski.
Drkulec hails from Lakeshore and graduated from St. Anne’s High School. The 6’2 midfielder is coming off a strong season playing at the League 1 level with Windsor TFC. Prior to joining the TFC he played his club soccer with Windsor Croatia. Riley will be taking the 4 year Nursing Degree Program.
“Riley is versatile in the midfield and can play in the attacking and also defensive midfield position and will be a great all around asset to the team,” added Baraslievski.
Baraslievski is looking forward to adding these players to the team next year. “We are excited to add three great players that will raise our level of talent on the squad. All three will be strong candidates to push for starting positions and make us a more productive team on offense.”
