13th Annual Knobby’s Kids Starts Saturday – Knobby’s Kids Scores a $5,000 donation

For the 8th year the St. Clair College Alumni Association has donated $5,000 to Knobby’s Kids which is the local children’s program which provides free skating and hockey lessons weekly at Lanspeary Park on Ottawa street.

These funds cover the cost of the ice rental for the year and their insurance. The cheque presented December 5, 2019 at the Windsor Spitfire game at the WFCU Centre.

For the last 13 years, Knobby’s kids is run by volunteers who donate their time and skills Saturday mornings at 8 till 11 where they provide skates and hockey equipment to children from 5 to 12 years.

Knobby’s Kids is a skating and hockey program for youngsters who cannot afford to play in organized leagues.

The program begins this Saturday December 7th till March 2020.

It’s a program that gives underprivileged kids in Windsor, an opportunity to play hockey and skate every Saturday morning till March 2019.

Free skates and equipment are provided for kids to use.

The program was started by Robert “Knobby” Knudsen who was one the program founders who passed away in 2011 along with Jerry Slavik and Frank Spry .

Knobby’s Kids are always looking for donations for kids skates and hockey equipment.
