Father Cullen Baseball Stadium Upgrades Complete With Support From Jays Care Foundation Field of Dreams Grant
Last spring, the City of Windsor was selected as a recipient of a Field Of Dreams grant from Jays Care Foundation to refurbish the Father Cullen Baseball Stadium backstop at Mic Mac Park, 1125 Prince Road. For this phase of the upgrades, the City has invested $150,000, and a matching $150,000 grant was received from Jays Care Foundation’s program Field Of Dreams made possible by TD.
Mayor Drew Dilkens was joined by local youth baseball players for a ribbon cutting and ceremonial first pitch on Saturday in celebration of the upgrades.
“The City of Windsor is grateful to have been selected by the Toronto Blue Jays to receive this impactful funding. Father Cullen Stadium is our premier stadium in Windsor. It has been home to many national and provincial baseball championships, serving as the host site for competitions that inspire youth, celebrate sport, and increase quality of life and community engagement. This generous funding from the Jays Care Foundation helps to ensure that the stadium continues to be used by local associations and the many teams that come to Windsor for tournaments and events. In 2026, the City has allocated $317 million for capital investments, including $29.2 million for community services like parks, recreation, facilities and culture. Strong partnerships help to amplify these investments. We thank the foundation and the Toronto Blue Jays for investing in our community, as well as all those who helped bring this project to fruition.” – Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens
Stadium Improvements:
- Removal of the old backstop
- Installation of a new backstop with hoist-able netting, and new padding
- Increased concrete surface from dugout to dugout for better accessibility and visibility
- Updates to the dugouts
- Additional player benches to be added at ground level for each dugout
Field Of Dreams made possible by TD is Jays Care Foundation’s granting program that provides funding to design, refurbish, and build local baseball diamonds in communities across the country.
Field Of Dreams diamonds are created to be safe and inclusive spaces where communities can connect, and kids can grow. Since the program’s inception, Jays Care Foundation has invested more than $20 million in 232 Field Of Dreams projects across the country.
The City of Windsor looks forward to an exciting 2026 season! Let’s play ball!
