MARLEAU REACHES 500-GOAL MILESTONE IN SHARKS VICTORY

Patrick Marleau scored the 500th goal of his NHL career to help the Pacific Division-leading Sharks (33-17-2, 68 points) pick up their eighth win in their last nine games.

Marleau became the first player in franchise history to score 500 career goals with the Sharks. He also became the fifth active player in the NHL to reach the milestone, joining Jaromir Jagr (758), Jarome Iginla (617), Alex Ovechkin (550) and Marian Hossa (518).

The 37-year-old veteran has scored seven times on his active five-game point streak (7-1—8), which included a four-goal third period on Jan. 23 at COL.
