Toronto Maple Leaf Patrick Marleau scored the 514th goal of his NHL career to surpass Jeremy Roenick for sole possession of 39th place on the NHL’s all-time list. Only Jaromir Jagr (765), Alex Ovechkin (571) and Marian Hossa (525) have more career goals among active players.
VESEY STRIKES TWICE IN RANGERS FIFTH STRAIGHT WIN
Jimmy Vesey scored two first-period goals in a span of 29 seconds to help the Rangers (8-7-2, 18 points) extend their season-long winning streak to five games.
LEAGUE-LEADING LIGHTNING CONTINUE STRONG START
The line of Nikita Kucherov (1-2—3), Vladislav Namestnikov (2-1—3) and Steven Stamkos (0-3—3) combined for nine points to guide the League-leading Lightning (12-2-2, 26 points) to their best start in franchise history.
Stamkos (7-21—28) leads the NHL in points while Kucherov (15-11—26) leads in goals and ranks second in points. They are the highest-scoring teammates in the League, registering 14 more combined points than the next closest duo.
Andrei Vasilevskiy made 32 saves to record his League-leading 12th win of the season (12-1-1, 2.41 GAA, .928 SV%, 1 SO).
AVALANCHE, SENATORS CONTINUE PREPARATIONS IN SWEDEN
The Avalanche and Senators will practice at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden on Thursday in advance of the 2017 SAP NHL Global Series, a two-game set between the clubs taking place on Friday and Saturday.
