ST. CLAIR MEN’S VOLLEYBALL DROP MATCH AT FANSHAWE
London, ON – The St. Clair men’s volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule on Wednesday night in London taking on the Fanshawe College Falcons.
The Saints got off to a decent start but ended up losing the first set 25-22. St. Clair had a chance to tie the match at 1-1 but ended up dropping the second set 29-27 after a couple costly late errors. Losing the tight second set seemed to take the wind out of the sails of the Saints and the Falcons took the third set 25-10 to win the match 3-0.
Middle Jonah Certossi (Belle River) had a solid game for the Saints with 5 kills and 3 stuff blocks.
With the loss St. Clair’s record dropped to 0-3 while Fanshawe improved to 1-2.
The Saints are next in action this coming weekend when they travel to Sudbury to take on College Boreal on Saturday and Cambrian College on Sunday.
ST. CLAIR WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL FALL TO FANSHAWE
The St. Clair women’s volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule on Wednesday night as they travelled up the 401 to take on their rivals at Fanshawe College in London. The Saints went down two sets but battled back to win the next two. However, Fanshawe bounced back to take set five 15-13 to win the match 3-2.
Set scores for Fanshawe were 25-15, 26-24, 28-30, 18-25 and 15-13. Outside hitter Sarah Dobinson (Whitby) led the way for the Saints with 15 kills, 1 service ace, 1 stuff block, 4 assists and 6 digs.
With the loss St. Clair’s record dropped to 1-2 while Fanshawe improved to 2-1. St. Clair is currently ranked 4th in Ontario and 11th Canada while the Falcons are ranked 6th in Ontario.
The Saints are next in action this coming weekend when they travel to Sudbury to take on College Boreal on Saturday and Cambrian College on Sunday.
