Mike Baraslievski Steps Away from St. Clair Men’s Soccer

The St. Clair College Athletic Department officially announced the retirement of longtime Varsity Men’s Soccer Head Coach Mike Baraslievski.

Baraslievski has led the Men’s Varsity Soccer program at St. Clair since 1992 which totals 31 seasons of fall outdoor soccer where he collected 174 wins overall in that span including 133 regular seasons victories which resulted in three West Division titles and 24 playoff appearances. 18 post-season wins allowed St. Clair to reach the podium three times including a rookie campaign Bronze along with a Silver Medal in 2000 to go with last fall’s CCAA National Bronze when the Saints hosted the event at St. Clair’s SportsPark Acumen Stadium. He was also part of the organizing committee when St. Clair hosted the OCAA Provincial Championship in 2001 and 2021. In addition, he was leader of the indoor team when the Saints fielded that program which accounted for another 15 years at the helm adding back-to-back OCAA Provincial Silver Medal performances to his resume in 2016 and 2017.

Baraslievski has been recognized by his peers with eight West Division Coach of the Year Awards and was nominated for CCAA National Coach of the Year on three occasions as the OCAA’s Coach of the Year recipient. St. Clair College has distinguished him twice as the Inter-Collegiate Coach of the Year winner that saw him collect that hardware in the 1992-93 season and then again in 2011-12.

St. Clair College Director, College Recreational Services Reid Innes stated, “We would like to thank Coach Baraslievski for his 31 years on our sideline and wish him well in retirement. Mike’s commitment to St. Clair College and our Saints student-athletes has made a lasting impact and set a mark for coaching longevity that will not easily be matched.”

Baraslievski is without question one of the longest serving coaches in the history of the OCAA and has no rival in the annals for a coach of a varsity team at St. Clair College.
