St. Clair College Names Vagnini Interim Men’s Soccer Head Coach

The St. Clair College Athletic Department has announced that Steve Vagnini will be assuming the role of Interim Head Coach for the Varsity Men’s Soccer program, effective immediately, while remaining the Women’s Soccer Head Coach for the Saints. Vagnini takes over for Mike Baraslievski who recently retired after 32 years at the helm for the Saints.

Vagnini has led the St. Clair Women for a total of five outdoor seasons compiling a 29-12-7 West Division regular season record and four playoff appearances with his best performance being an OCAA Bronze Medal in 2015. During that span he was named the West Division and OCAA Coach of the Year recipient four times while adding CCAA National Coach of the Year honours in 2015. Vagnini also led the Saints to a pair of OCAA medals in six indoor seasons including a provincial Gold in 2015 and a Silver in 2017.

Joining Vagnini’s staff are Anthony Santilli, Massimo Pollard, and Gianni Ferri. Santilli will be the goalie’s coach, a role he also fills with the Women’s Soccer team. New to the Saints sideline are Ferri and Pollard. Each of the newcomers have recently graduated and completed their post-secondary careers, Pollard from St. Clair College, and Nipissing University after 4 years with the Saints and Ferri from Michigan State University after 4 years with the Spartans.
