Don James - Writer, Researcher, and Media Strategist Since 2007, Don James has served as a national writer for Detroit-based Real Times Media, publisher of historic African American newspapers, such as the Michigan Chronicle, Chicago Defender, Pittsburgh Courier, Atlanta Daily World, and Memphis Tri-State Defender. As a national writer in the United States, Don has written hundreds of feature stories for Real Times Media and Who’s Who Publishing Company’s 26 national books in such cities as Detroit, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Cleveland, Houston, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and other urban markets. An avid sports fan, Don has been authorized and credentialed in selected seasons to cover professional games for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and Windsor Express. In Canada, Don’s work has been published by Windsor-based Biz X magazine and In Play! Magazine, the latter of which pertains to coverage of The Windsor Express. He has also written profiles published by Toronto-based publications such as The Word and Afro Toronto. Don holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida A&M University.
