Brandon Robinson Named to NBLC 10th Anniversary All-Time Team

He is known as much for making his own breaks as he was for making buckets, an inspirational player who took on the world after conquering Canada – and now he counts himself among the league’s best.

Today, the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) named Brandon Robinson to the 10th Anniversary All-Time Team, comprised of the 10 greatest players in league history. Further players will be announced on the league homepage (nblcanada.ca) and social media channels through from April 14.

“Never count Brandon out. Here’s a guy that fought for everything he got – from unsigned in the draft combine to the league’s leading scorer in its inaugural season,” said Audley Stephenson, NBLC Vice-president of Basketball Operations. “This is a guy who made the most of every single opportunity in his career and used his success in our league to play internationally and win multiple championships abroad. He’s an amazing, feel-good story.”

Playing with the Oshawa Power (2011-12), Halifax Rainmen (2012), PEI Island Storm (2012-15), and Windsor Express (2016), Robinson lead the league in scoring in 2012 when he was also named NBLC Rookie of the Year and All-Star Game MVP. While not ranking in the Top 10 in all-time games played, the 6-foot-6-inch American forward still ranks among the league’s all-time leaders in points (No. 8), field goals (No. 9), free throws (No. 4), three-pointers (No. 7), assists (No. 4), and steals (No. 6).

The NBLC 10th Anniversary All-Time Team was selected by a 13-person committee of former league personnel, coaches, and front office staff. Voters selected players based on numerous factors, including impact on league, on-court play, longevity, representative of league values on and off the court, influence, and community involvement.
