LIGHTNING TAKE 1-0 SERIES LEAD, RELIEF EFFORT TO TAKE SERIES LEAD

The Lightning opened a three-goal lead and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 25 saves in 47:15 of relief to help Tampa Bay pick up its fifth consecutive victory and take a 1-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Final.

Vasilevskiy earned his second career playoff win in relief of Ben Bishop (9 SV), who left due to injury at 12:25 of the first period. His only other postseason victory also came in relief of Bishop, in Game 2 of the 2015 Stanley Cup Final vs. CHI.

BLUES, SHARKS PREPARE FOR WESTERN CONFERENCE FINAL

The Blues and Sharks will open the 2016 Western Conference Final on Sunday at Scottrade Center in St. Louis. This marks the fifth all-time playoff meeting between the two franchises, and the first past the opening round. The teams have split their previous four meetings, with St. Louis winning their most recent encounter in the 2012 Western Conference Quarterfinals (4-1 W). The Blues, who are making their first appearance in the Conference Finals since 2001, and Sharks, who will play in the third round for the fourth time, are both in quest of the first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history.
