The Detroit Red Wings have acquired left wing Dylan Sadowy from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a third-round draft pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Dylan Sadowy, 20, recently completed his fourth full season in the Ontario Hockey League, producing 70 points (45-25-70), a plus-17 rating and 65 penalty minutes in 64 games split between the Saginaw Spirit and Barrie Colts.
He scored 25 goals in just 28 games following his midseason trade to Barrie and went on to add five points (2-3-5) in eight postseason games with the club. In 258 OHL games since the 2012-13 season, Sadowy has tallied 188 points (116-72-188), a plus-23 rating and 245 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-1, 195-lb., winger was recognized in the league’s annual coaches poll, being named third-most dangerous in the goal area and second-best penalty killer in the Western Conference in 2014-15 and being named the third-best shot blocker in the Eastern Conference in 2015-16.
Sadowy also represented the OHL at the 2015 CHL Canada-Russia Series in November. The Woodbridge, Ontario, native was originally drafted by the Sharks in the third round (81st overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
