Team USA Men Suffer 3-2 Shootout Loss to Czech Republic in Olympic Quarterfinals
GANGNEUNG, South Korea — Ryan Donato (Scituate, Mass.) and Jim Slater (Lapeer, Mich.) scored, but the U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team fell to the Czech Republic, 3-2, in a shootout here today in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games at the Gangneung Hockey Centre.

Team USA was outshot by the Czech Republic, 29-20, went 0-for-5 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
In five games, Ryan Donato (Scituate, Mass.) led Team USA with five goals and six points while Troy Terry (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) paced all U.S. skaters with five assists.
The U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team has captured two gold medals (1980, 1960), eight silver medals (2010, 2002, 1972, 1956, 1952, 1932, 1924, 1920) and one bronze medal (1936) all-time in Olympic play.
