The Detroit Red Wings and the Vancouver Canucks clashed in a thrilling hockey game on the 10th of February 2024. The game was marked by a remarkable comeback from the Red Wings, resulting in a 4-3 victory in overtime.

The Red Wings started off on the right foot, scoring a goal just 45 seconds into the game. However, the Canucks retaliated with a goal in the second period.

The first part of the game was dominated by the Red Wings. They took an early lead with a goal scored by Lucas Raymond, marking his 14th of the season. Despite the Canucks’ efforts, they were unable to equalize in this period.

The second period saw a shift in momentum as the Canucks managed to tie the game with a goal from Nils Hoglander. This goal, Hoglander’s 15th of the season, was a powerful slapshot from the point that managed to elude the Red Wings’ goalie.

Even though the Red Wings got a five-minute power play due to a penalty on Canucks’ defenseman Nikita Zadorov, they failed to capitalize on this advantage.

The Canucks then took the lead with a goal from Elias Pettersson, assisted by Hoglander. Pettersson’s goal, his 28th of the season, was scored off a rebound, giving the Canucks a 2-1 lead.

Daniel Sprong scored a goal early in the period, narrowing the Canucks’ lead to 3-2. This was followed by Michael Rasmussen tying the game at 3-3 by redirecting a shot from Jake Walman.

Overtime started with a bang when Walman was awarded a penalty shot just 23 seconds in. He managed to score, securing a 4-3 victory for the Red Wings. Walman, who admitted to being nervous before the shot, said that capitalizing on chances and breakdowns is crucial in overtime.
