For the third year, St. Clair College is ready to present to Windsor-Essex the 2019 Green Giants team.

This year, they welcome six local players Gibson Krzeminski, Daniel Warkentin, Spencer Marcus, Aiden Massad, Michael Beale and Evan Ferguson.

Other teammates on the roster are coming to Windsor from California, Florida, Arizona, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Michigan and British Columbia.

Players will range from NCAA Division 1 & 2, Junior Colleges across America and as well as the OCAA.

Last year, the St. Clair College Green Giants won the Northern Division with a record of 26 wins and 16 losses.

The Green Giants earned their place in back-to-back league semi-finals in their first 2 years.

The home opener will be this Tuesday, June 4th at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh with the first pitch going at 7:05pm.

In February 2017, St. Clair College announced their entry in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League (GLSCL) for the 2017 season.

The St. Clair Green Giants have been based out of Tecumseh’s Lacasse Park and the league has 12 teams competing and St. Clair is the only Canadian franchise.

The GLSCL had its inaugural season in 1984 and is sanctioned by Major League Baseball (MLB) with teams across the Michigan/Ohio/Indiana region. Each franchise is comprised of players from all over North America but must be competing with a college or university baseball school. Currently players in the league are from the NCAA, NAIA, and the NJCAA. With St. Clair College Franchise Purchase, the league will now feature some talent from Canadian conferences like the OCAA (Ontario College Athletic Association).

The St. Clair Green Giants will play a 42-game regular season schedule in June and July. There are 21 home games beginning on June 4th at Tecumseh’s Lacasse Park.
