St. Clair Women’s Volleyball Win Home Opener
The St. Clair women’s volleyball team played their OCAA home opener on Sunday afternoon in front of a big crowed at the Sportsplex and came away with solid 3-1 win over the Conestoga College Condors (Kitchener).
Set scores for St. Clair were 25-19, 25-9, 22-25 and 25-19.
It was a solid all around team performance with key contributions for several players. Second year outside hitter Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders) led the way with 13 kills, 2 assists and 8 digs. Second year outside hitter Ashley Maleyko (LaSalle; Villanova) had a big game as well with 8 kills, 1 service ace and 16 digs.
With the win St. Clair improved to 4-0 on the season while Conestoga dropped to 2-1. The St. Clair women are currently ranked in 4th Ontario.
The Saints are next in action on Friday, November 11 when they travel to Ancaster to take on the Redeemer University Royals at 6 pm.

The St. Clair men’s volleyball team played their OCAA home opener on Sunday afternoon at the Sportsplex and came away with convincing 3-1 win over the Conestoga College Condors (Kitchener).
Set scores for St. Clair were 22-25, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-11.
It was a solid all around team performance for the Saints. Second year outside hitter Marc Galipeau (Lasalle; Sandwich) led the way with 16 kills, 1 assist, 1 stuff block and 10 digs. Second year middle Zach Walls (Amherstburg; Villanova) had a big game as well with 9 kills, 4 stuff blocks and 1 assist.
With the win St. Clair improved to 2-2 on the season while Conestoga dropped to 0-3.
The Saints are next in action on Friday, November 11 when they travel to Ancaster to take on the Redeemer University Royals at 8 pm.
