St. Clair College volleyball hosted the Mohawk Mountaineers from Hamilton at the Sportsplex on Friday night
Women
The St. Clair College women came away with a convincing win defeating Mohawk 3-0. The Saints came out hot taking the first set 25-20. St. Clair had a better second set winning 25-16. Mohawk made it interesting in the third set but the Saints prevailed 25-21. Kaila Crough led the way for St. Clair with 11 kills, 1 service ace, and 5 digs. Sydney Emerson also had a solid match with 8 kills, 1 stuff block and 2 digs. Jessica Masse chipped in with 5 kills, 3 stuff blocks and 2 digs.
With the win the Saints record improved to 4-1 on the season while Mohawk fell to 1-2. The St. Clair women are currently ranked 4th in the OCAA while Mohawk is ranked 7th in Ontario.
St. Clair’s next match is on Wednesday, November 16 at 6 pm when they host Fanshawe College at the Sportsplex. The Falcons are ranked 8th in the OCAA.
Men
The St. Clair College men’s volleyball team hosted the Mohawk Mountaineers from Hamilton at the Sportsplex on Friday night.
The Saints struggled on the night against a very good Mohawk squad dropping the match 3-0. Game scores for Mohawk were 25-16, 25-11, and 25-17.
With the loss the Saints fell to 3-2 on the season while Mohawk remained undefeated with a record of 3-0. The St. Clair men are currently ranked 7th in the OCAA w while Mohawk is ranked 2nd in Ontario and 6th in Canada.
St. Clair is next in action when they host Fanshawe College on Wednesday, November 16 at 8 pm at the Sportsplex. The Falcons are ranked 1st in the OCAA and 1st in Canada.
