Greyhounds Defeat Windsor Spitfires in the Soo

Joseph Raaymakers made 38 saves as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds defeated the Windsor Spitfires 4-1 at the Essar Centre Friday night.

With the game tied 1-1 after forty minutes of play the Greyhounds (33-11-2-1) struck for three unanswered goals by David Miller, Morgan Frost and Boris Katchouk (empty net) to pull away and win the game.

Jeremy Bracco, with his first goal since being acquired from the Kitchener Rangers earlier this month, had the lone marker for the Spitfires (29-10-5-2) while Katchouk scored his first goal of the game for the ‘Hounds in the first period to open the scoring.

Michael DiPietro was stellar for Windsor while making 37 saves in his last game before departing for the CHL Top Prospects Game in Quebec City. DiPietro will be joined in that contest by teammate Gabriel Vilardi.

The Spitfires were without the services of forwards Logan Brown (wrist) and Jeremy Addison (bruised lung) and defenceman Logan Stanley (knee surgery earlier this week).

The Windsor Spitfires schedule has them return to action Saturday night when they take on the Saginaw Spirit at the Dort Event Center.
