London Knights Even Series with Windsor Spitfires

Tyler Parson made 29 saves as the London Knights defeated the Windsor Spitfires 5-2 at the Budweiser Gardens Sunday afternoon. The win evened up the Ontario Hockey League Western Conference quarter-final play-off series between the two clubs.

Max Jones paced the Knights offensively with a pair of goals while Cliff Pu, Olli Juolevi and Mitchell Stephens added single markers.

With the game tied 2-2 after 40 minutes of play, Stephens’ second goal of the play-offs gave the Knights (1-1) a lead they would not relinquish midway through the third period. Jones then scored twice into an empty net in the game’s last two minutes to round out the scoring in the contest.

Aaron Luchuk, with his third goal of the play-offs and Mikhail Sergachev replied for the Spitfires (1-1) while Michael DiPietro made 30 saves before being pulled for an extra attacker with 1:50 left in the third period.

The series schedule now shifts to Windsor with games three and four going Tuesday and Thursday nights at the WFCU Centre.
