St. Clair Soccer Recap Sept. 25 2021

Women’s Soccer Remain Unbeaten

Kitchener, ON (Sept 25, 2021) Conestoga took the lead in the 9th minute but the Saints responded quickly in the 21st minute as Tira Copeland (Windsor; Holy Names) slotted one home from 20 feet. St. Clair went up 2-1 in the 26th minute on a header by Ravneet Rana (Windsor; Riverside) from a corner kick. Emma Riccardi (LaSalle; Sandwich) put the Saints up 3-1 in the 63rd minute after a nice through ball as she chipped it over the keeper who came charging out. The Condors got a late goal in the 94th minute to make it 3-2.

The Saints would hold the one-goal lead for the remainder of the game, giving goalkeeper Athena Dimario Done (Windsor; St. Joseph’s) the win. Dimario Done made 6 saves while the Conestoga made 6 as well.

With the win St. Clair’s record improved to 2 wins and a draw.

The Saints are back in action on Wednesday when they host the Lambton Lions at 6 pm at Acumen Stadium at the SportsPark.

St. Clair Men’s Soccer Defeat Conestoga

The Saints got off to a great start as Noel Junior (Brazil) scored in the 13th minute. However, the Condors bounced back quickly evening the score at one all in the 23rd minute. St. Clair reclaimed the lead for good in the 58th minute on a tally by Romario Abraham (Kitchener; Cameron Heights). Jackson Kruse (Kitchener; Huron Heights) put the game away scoring in the 88th minute to make it 3-1.

St. Clair dominated play for most of the match as they had 23 shot attempts compared to 10 for Conestoga. The Conestoga keeper was solid in goal making 10 saves compared to only 1 save for Saints keeper Thomas Kogel (Windsor; St. Joseph’s) who picked up the win. The Saints also had the edge in corner kicks by a margin of 8-2.

With the win St. Clair’s record improved to 1 win and a loss.

The Saints are back in action on Wednesday when they host the Lambton Lions at 8 pm at Acumen Stadium at the SportsPark.
