St. Clair Women’s Softball Take Provincial Bronze

The St. Clair College Women’s Softball team took the Bronze Medal Saturday afternoon at the OCAA Provincial Championship hosted by Durham College in Oshawa after losing 3-0 to Humber Polytechnic (Etobicoke).

Shae-Lyn Murphy (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) had a double to earn Player of the Game and July Lafleur (Essex, ON/Essex) singled but they were the only hits for the Saints as neither produced a run. Danna Juarez (Airdrie, AB) took the pitching loss for St. Clair but was recognized as a member of the Championship All-Star team who had a pair of complete game shutout wins leading up to the final day of the event.

Later that afternoon Durham won their 22nd OCAA title on their home field with an 8-0 win over Humber in the championship final. The Saints finished the season with a 25-10 record including playoff and exhibition play earning a Provincial and National Bronze Medal along with way.
