  • Rob Armstrong (Erin, Ont.), Billy Bridges (Summerside, P.E.I.), James Gemmell (Quesnel, B.C.) and Corbyn Smith (Monkton, Ont.) added an assist each in the game.
  • Dominic Larocque (Quebec City, Que.) got the start in goal for Canada stopping the seven shots he faced for his fifth career shutout with Team Canada.

It’s a speed game, the refs have always called a tight game internationally so it doesn’t do us a lot of good being the toughest team out there; I still think we are tough but you’ve got to be mentally tough, you’ve got to be able to move your hands and get going out there. We worked really hard last year and this year to be a 12 month team, training all off-season and guys showed up to camp in great shape so this is our first game in seven months. I appreciate you saw some speed out there, but I think we can get better once we get the passes going.”
