PISTONS HOST “SEASON OF GIVING”

Pistons will host several holiday events around the Metro Detroit area throughout the month of December as a part of the Detroit Pistons’ “Season of Giving” presented by Meijer.

Pistons guard Brandon Jennings will kick off the Pistons’ “Season of Giving” initiative by hosting 40 deserving youngsters from the City of Detroit Youth S.A.F.E.T.Y. Program at Dave & Buster’s in Utica for a day of gaming and food on December 13.  Pistons forward Anthony Tolliver will follow Jennings’ event with a holiday “adoption” of six families in need from Care House of Oakland County in Pontiac, MI at Detroit’s December 16 game vs. Boston.  Tolliver will host the families in his player charity ticket section and following the game, present each family with gifts and food in The Palace’s Presidents Club Suite.

Palace Sports & Entertainment and the Pistons will also host a Toys for Tots drive at the game on December 16.  Fans are encouraged to bring new unwrapped toys to the game and drop them off in the collection bins at any Palace entrance.

“Season of Giving” events will conclude on Sunday, December 20 when Pistons’ players Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris, Stanley Johnson, Joel Anthony and Tolliver, in collaboration with Meijer, will surprise 20 deserving youngsters from Yatooma’s Foundation for the Kids with a holiday shopping spree at Meijer in Detroit.

“Our players understand the importance of finding ways to give back to the community during the holiday season and that passion for making an impact starts with our owner Tom Gores,” said Palace Sports & Entertainment Vice Chairman Arn Tellem.  “We appreciate their efforts and thank our partners for helping to make the holidays brighter for many this holiday season.”
