After an arduous series of games, the Anaheim Ducks emerged victorious from their clash against the Detroit Red Wings with a 4-3 win. The star of the night, former Windsor Spitfire, Adam Henrique, continued his impressive form with his fourth goal in two games.
After securing his first career hat trick against New Jersey, Henrique proved his mettle once again. Alongside him, Radko Gudas, Pavel Mintyukov, and Troy Terry also contributed to the Ducks’ win, helping the team break their five-game losing streak.
The Red Wings, however, had a rough night, with their captain, Dylan Larkin, returning to the lineup after a severe injury. Despite Larkin’s assist, the team couldn’t overcome the Ducks, extending their losing streak to six of seven games.
The game was particularly challenging for the Red Wings’ goaltender Ville Husso, who had to leave the game due to an injury. He was replaced by James Reimer, who made 12 saves. Forward Klim Kostin also had to quit early due to an upper-body injury.
The Ducks took an early lead in the first period, thanks to goals by Gudas, Mintyukov, and Henrique. Gudas opened the scoring at 2:23, followed by Mintyukov at 8:19. Henrique added another goal shortly after Husso’s departure, redirecting Cam Fowler’s shot for a power-play goal.
The second period saw Terry score a goal at 1:46, cementing the Ducks’ lead. The Red Wings, however, managed to score their first goal of the game, thanks to a slap shot by Jeff Petry.
Despite being down by four goals, Detroit showed resilience in the third period. Alex DeBrincat scored two power-play goals, surpassing 400 career points. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Ducks.
