The first 10,000 fans will receive a Retro Style Mini Bobblehead, presented by FOX Sports Detroit and “April in the D”. In conjunction with the giveaway, FOX Sports Detroit will host an interactive fan area in front of the ballpark, featuring the FSD April in the D bobblehead checkerboard and the mascots from the Tigers, Pistons and Lions.
2006 American League Champions Anniversary Series: Throughout the 2016 season, the Tigers will recognize the 10-year anniversary of the 2006 American League Championship Team. Players involved in this season-long celebration will participate in a pregame fan Q&A session, and throw out a ceremonial first pitch. The first 2006 AL Champion Tiger to be recognized is outfielder Craig Monroe. Monroe will participate in a Q&A session from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Big Cat Court.
The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by 2006 American League Champion Craig Monroe.
The national anthem will be performed by Great Lakes Chorus.
Autism Awareness: The Detroit Tigers join Major League Baseball to host an on-field pregame ceremony featuring Jack’s Place for Autism Foundation along with beneficiaries of the services provided by Jack’s Place to recognize Autism Awareness month.
Verlander’s Victory for Veterans: This season, for each Saturday home game, Justin Verlander hosts Veterans from Veterans Affairs Medical Centers throughout the state of Michigan. These Veterans sustained injuries or illness in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom or in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Veterans along with their families cheer on the Tigers from the comfort of Verlander’s personal luxury suite. After serving our country, the special day provides American veterans the opportunity to enjoy a Tigers game with their family. Veterans from the Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Healthcare System will share 18 luxury suite tickets and parking passes in the Tigers Parking Garage. Food and beverage is provided for the guests courtesy of Verlander. Veterans receive a personalized welcome letter from Verlander, a Verlander’s Victory for Veterans t-shirt and a Wins for Warriors baseball cap.
