After a thorough application and interview process the Ontario Volleyball Association made the announcement on Tuesday.

El-Turk and team will represent Ontario at the 2016 National Team Challenge Cup. The 16U coaching staffs will be working hard as a group in identifying athletes for selection to attend the High Performance Centre.

The National Team Challenge Cup (NTCC) will see Canada’s next generation of high performance athletes compete for their home province/territory, and have an opportunity to represent Canada with the Youth National Development Program (YNDP).

The 16U High Performance Centre will be at Nipissing University from July 3-8th, followed immediately by the Team Ontario training camp at Brock University from July 9-13th in preparation for the National Team Challenge Cup.

Coach El-Turk is looking forward to the challenge.

“I’m very excited to be working with some of the top athletes and coaches in our province this summer. It’s an honour to be a part of the provincial team program and I’m looking forward to continuing to assist in the development of the athletes in Ontario,” – Jimmy El-Turk.

In his first season as Head Coach of the Saints he has led the team to a record of 6-5 in the very tough and competitive OCAA West Division. St. Clair is currently in 5th place with the top 6 teams making the playoffs. El-Turk was an assistant coach with the Team Ontario 16U boys program last year.

“We could not be prouder of Coach El-Turk for receiving this honour. He has worked extremely hard in his short time with us and he is just another example of the top quality individuals we have on staff to coach our student athletes,” stated St. Clair College’s Athletic Director, Christina Gatto.
