The Essex District High School senior girls basketball team remained undefeated in WECSSAA play as they beat the visiting Lajeunesse Royals 43-26

It was the eighth straight win for the Red Raiders who are now 8-0 in WECSSAA Tier I play while the Royals slipped to 6-3.

Down 10-6 at the end of the first quarter, Essex was led by captain Lucia McElwain with 16 points while Cailleigh Chauvin added 11 and Finley McElwain also reached doubled digits, netting 10.

For the Royals, Lauren Golding had 20 points.
