Christian Fischer scored three times and added an assist, as the Spitfires beat the Firebirds
6-4 on Saturday night in front of 3,768 at the Dort Federal Event Center.

The win helped the Windsor Spitfires (35-18-6-0) keep pace with Sarnia (35-17-5-2), which beat the Attack 4-1 in
Owen Sound to remain a point up in the race for first place in the West Division.

Fischer opened the scoring just 1:33 into the game with his team-leading 30th of the season.
Bradley Latour scored his first of two on the night (22, 23) just 1:03 into the second, giving the Spits a
3-2 lead.

Will Bitten’s second of the game pulled Flint (18-35-4-2) within a goal at 4-3, but Fischer (13:22) and
Latour (18:57) hit the scoresheet again, giving the visitors a three-goal lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
The Spits scored four times in six chances on the power play.

Michael DiPietro was injured at the 7:20 mark of the first period and was forced to leave the game.
Mario Culina earned the win after making 22 saves in relief. DiPietro is day-to-day with a stiff neck.
The Spitfires are right back at it in Sault Ste Marie (2:05) on Sunday afternoon.
