Christian Fischer had a pair of goals, as the Spitfires beat the Kitchener Rangers 6-4 in a first round playoff preview at the WFCU Centre on Thursday night.

The win gave the Windsor Spitfires (38-21-6-1) three wins in four tries against Kitchener (43-16-5-2) in the season series.

The clubs will begin their Western Conference quarter-final Thursday, March 24th, up the 401 at the Memorial Auditorium.

Logan Brown (1G, 3A) and Mikhail Sergachev (1G, 2A) had multi-point games, while Gabriel Vilardi (15) and Mads Eller (1) chipped in singles.

Eller’s was his first Ontario Hockey league goal.

Mario Culina made 28 saves in goal for the win and Luke Opilka stopped 13 in 40 minutes in a losing cause, before being replaced by Dawson Carty (6 saves) for the final 20.

The Spits are right back at it Friday night, as they make their final visit of the season to Saginaw.
