Former Champions Cameron Davis, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler and Nate Lashley Commit to 2025 Rocket Classic

Davis became the tournament’s first two-time winner with his one-stroke victory last June

The Rocket Classic has announced four of its former champions – Cameron Davis, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler and Nate Lashley – have committed to return for the seventh-annual playing of Detroit’s PGA TOUR tournament scheduled for June 25-29 at Detroit Golf Club.

Davis became the only two-time winner of the Rocket Classic last year, having also won the tournament following a five-hole playoff in 2021. Fowler hoisted the trophy in 2023, while Finau coasted to a five-stroke victory in 2022. Lashley was the tournament’s inaugural winner in 2019.

“We’re excited to welcome back four outstanding champions – Cameron, Rickie, Tony and Nate – to the Rocket Classic this summer. Each of these players has left their mark on this tournament, and it’s a privilege to see them return to Detroit. From the start, Dan Gilbert’s vision was to bring a PGA TOUR event here not just to showcase great golf, but to drive meaningful impact in our community. That mission continues, and these champions are part of the story we’re proud to keep building.” – Bill Emerson, President of Rocket Companies and the Rocket Giving Fund

Davis owns two career PGA TOUR victories, both at Detroit Golf Club. After outlasting Troy Merritt and Joaquin Niemann in a five-hole playoff to claim the Rocket Classic trophy in 2021, Davis won last year’s tournament in easier fashion. A birdie on the 17th hole gave him the lead and just enough breathing room to better Aaron Rai, Akshay Bhatia, Min Woo Lee, and Davis Thompson by one stroke.

Finau set a Rocket Classic record with his 26-under par performance in 2022, beating Patrick Cantlay, Taylor Pendrith and Cameron Young by five strokes. It marked Finau’s second victory in back-to-back weeks and was one of three PGA victories he secured that year.

Fowler’s 2023 Rocket Classic win also came down to a dramatic playoff finish. He birdied the 18th hole on Sunday to force a three-way playoff with Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin, then birdied the first playoff hole to secure the victory. A six-time PGA TOUR winner, Fowler recorded five top-25 finishes last season and has already placed inside the top 30 three times through his first nine events of 2025. A Rocket ambassador, he has played the Rocket Classic every year since its debut in 2019.

Lashley ensured that the inaugural Rocket Classic in 2019 would be a memorable one, securing his first PGA TOUR victory after entering the field as the third alternate. He shot a 63 to top the leaderboard after round one and never relinquished his lead, surging to a six-stroke victory.
