St. Clair Green Giants Recap June 28 2017 – GG Sink Muskegon Clippers 10 – 2
The St. Clair Green Giants were back in action Wednesday night against the Muskegon Clippers after a two day layoff.
After the two days of much needed rest St. Clair came out firing on all cylinders jumping all over Muskegon starter Bryce Kelley on route to a 10-2 victory.
The offensive barrage was led by Conor Mckenna who went 2-3 with a run and 2 RBI.
Max Ayarza hit his first home run of the year and Nick Howie also had 2 hits and 2 RBI for the Green Giants.
Starting pitcher Tyler Whitbread was solid in his fourth start of the year throwing 6 innings, giving up 2 runs and striking out 4.
The win improves his record to 3-0. Relievers Nathan Schneiderman and Ramon Monje combined to close the game out with three shutout innings.
With the latest win the Green Giants improve to 13-6 on the season and sit in first place in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League’s Northern Division.
St. Clair is back in action Thursday night against the Clippers with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh.
