  • Swiss goaltender Joren van Pottelberghe made 35 saves on the way to helping his team secure an overtime win over the Czech Republic

Russia 9, Latvia 1 – Air Canada Centre, Toronto

  • Russia put 40 shots on goal against Latvia on its way to earn its first win of the tournament

Denmark 3, Finland 2 – Bell Centre, Montreal

  • Despite a late third-period rally, Finland dropped its second game in a row Tuesday, this time to Denmark, who picked up its first win of the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship

Canada 5, Slovakia 0 – Air Canada Centre, Toronto

  • Canada put 44 shots on goal on its way to shutting out Slovakia for its second straight win of the tournament
  • Connor Ingram (Imperial, Sask./Kamloops, WHL) faced only six shots in his shutout win
  • Associate captain Thomas Chabot (Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce, Que./Saint John, QMJHL) and Jérémy Lauzon (Val-d’Or, Que./Rouyn-Noranda, QMJHL) each recorded one goal and one assist.
