JAROMIR JAGR SCORES 750 NHL GOAL

Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr (1-0—1) scored his first goal of the season and 750 of his career to become the third player in NHL history to reach the milestone, joiningWayne Gretzky (894) and Gordie Howe (801).

At age 44 and playing in his 1,633rd career game, Jagr is the oldest of the trio at the time of his 750th career goal. Elias notes that Gretzky reached the milestone on Jan. 8, 1993 at age 31 in his 1,001st career game, while Howe hit the mark on Feb. 8, 1970 at age 41 in his 1,598th career game.

Jagr recorded his 1,870th career point to move within 17 of tying Messier (694-1,193—1,887) for second place all-time, behind Gretzky (894-1,963—2,857). Jagr also ranks among the all-time leaders in game-winning goals (133; 1st), assists (1,120; 6th) and games played (1,633; 8th).
