Jamieson Golf Tour July 17 2019 Gallery – Essex Golf and Country Club
Seventy Seven (77) golfers competed earlier today at Essex Golf and Country Club in the 4th Jamieson event of the season. The calm winds and pristine playing conditions yielded some impressive scores.
Playing in her second event of the season, Jasmine Ly (Roseland, Northern Illinois University) made it two in a row taking home the crown in the Junior Girl’s Division, shooting a one-over par 72 to best Kyla Charlebois (Pointe West) by 7 strokes. Ly posted consistent nines of 36-36 to secure the victory. She posted 3 birdies on route to her impressive 1 over par finish.
In the Collegiate Womens’ Division, it was a tight race between all competitors, with only one stroke separating the top 3 players.Nicole Cesca (Windsor Lancers) and Melanie Burgess (Windsor Lancers) tied for the stroke play lead with scores of 80. Melanie ultimately prevailed in a playoff by carding a birdie on the 2nd playoff hole.
The Junior Boys’ Division was also tight race, with Tyler Hurtubise (Sutton Creek) prevailing with a one under 70, one stroke better than Steven Hill of Essex. Tyler rode 5 birdies including two deuces on route to his subpar round.
In the Collegiate Men’s’ Division, Carson McKinlay (Wayne State/ Ridgetown) shot a blistering 68 including a 31 on the front nine. Carson recovered from a shaky start on the back nine by eagling the par 5 13th hole. Bryce Hughes (Rochester Place/Southeastern Oklahoma State) carded a fine 1 under par 70 to take second place.
The Jamieson Junior Tour will stop at Sutton Creek Golf Club next Thursday for Event #5.
