Jamieson Tour at Seven Lakes – Gallery
After a week of scorching temperatures and extreme humidity, the Jamieson Junior Tour golfers were granted beautiful weather for the second event of the season at Seven Lakes Championship Golf and Estates on July 9, 2019. Excellent course conditions and relatively calm winds lead to some low scores in all divisions on the par-71 layout (36-35).
In the Junior Girls’ Division, Kyla Charlebois (Pointe West) notched her second win of the season. She carded three birdies en route to her back nine 34, and a total score of 77. That tally put her four shots ahead of Vanessa Ardovini (Roseland), who placed second in back-to-back events.
The Collegiate Womens’ Division was a very tight race, with only one shot separating winner Megan Schauer (Tennessee Wesleyan University) and second-place finisher Nicole Cesca (Windsor Lancers) and Sophia Fallea (Windsor Lancers). Fallea and Cesca both had impressive back-nine scores, shooting 36 and 37 respectively for tallies of 82 on the day, but Schauer’s consistency led her to an 81, and her first victory of the season.
In the Junior Boys’ Division, Grant Baker (Kingsville) earned his first victory of the season by shooting 69, good enough for a two-shot victory over second-place finisher Rylan Marontate (Kingsville). Baker used nines of 37-32, which included a whopping five birdies, along with an eagle three on the par-5 fourteenth hole.
Owen Dorssers (Willow Ridge/Guelph Gryphons) won his first event of the season in the Collegiate Mens’ Division. He used nines of 36-33, and a total of six birdies to fire a score of 69. Finn O’Brien (Willow Ridge), the winner at Willow Ridge, finished in second place with a score of 74.
