Kingsville Kings overtake Komoka Dragons while Goalie Chase Sanford picked up his first win in net Sunday afternoon to help the Kingsville Kings to a 5-3 win
Named the games first star, Sanford turned away 46 shots for the Kings who snapped a two-game losing skid and ran their Greater Metro Junior ‘A’ Hockey League record to 3-2-0-1.
Matyas Kasek had two goals for Kingsville including his sixth and seventh of the season which lead the Kings. Miroslav Hylena also netted a pair with another from alternate captain Blake Naida.
On Friday, the Kings jumped into a 2-0 first period lead only to fall 7-5 to the host St. George Ravens.
Dan Leach turned in his best performance so far for Kingsville, being named the games third star. Leach was in on four of the five Kings’ goals with one tally and three assists. Also scoring were Kasek with a pair, Naida and Tyler Garcia.
