London Knights Defeat Windsor Spitfires
Tyler Johnson made 36 saves as the London Knights defeated the Windsor Spitfires 4-1 at the Budweiser Gardens Friday night.
Sam Miletic had a goal and an assist to lead the Knights (39-11-3-4) offensively while Mitchell Stephens, JJ Piccinich and Janne Kuokkanen added single goals.
Hayden McCool replied with the lone goal for the Spitfires (36-14-5-3) who could not cash in on any of their three opportunities while playing with the man advantage. Windsor’s once league-leading powerplay has now scored only once in their last 19 chances.
Michael DipPietro was stellar in net for the Spitfires while making 26 saves. His play kept his team in the game until the third period when the Knights struck for three goals, including Miletic’s empty-netter.
The Windsor Spitfire schedule has them return to action Sunday afternoon when they host the Sarnia Sting at the WFCU Centre.
