Memorial Cup Game 4 Erie Otters vs Saint John Sea Dogs

The Erie Otters scored a record dozen goals enroute to hammering the Saint John Sea Dogs 12-5 in the Memorial Cup game 4 at the WFCU Centre Monday night.

Dylan Strome led the offensive onslaught by setting a Memorial Cup single game record by scoring four goals and adding three assists for a seven point night while brothers Taylor and Darren Raddysh both chipped in with a pair of goals apiece. Kyle Maksimovich, Anthony Cirelli, Alex DeBrincat and Ivan Lodnia added single markers for the Otters (2-0) while Troy Timpano made 18 saves to pick up the win in goal.

Cedric Paré paced the Sea Dogs offensively with a pair of goals while Mathieu Joseph, Spencer Smallman and Julien Gauthier added singles.

Saint John starting goaltender Callum Booth was pulled late in the first period after allowing five goals on 14 shots. He was replaced by Alex D’Oriowho made 18 stops in a relief effort.

The 2017 Memorial Cup continues Tuesday night when the Sea Dogs play the Seattle Thunderbirds (0-2). The winner of that game will advance to the tournament semi-final on Friday. The Otters return to action on Wednesday night when they play the host Windsor Spitfires (2-0). The winner of that contest advances directly to Sunday’s Memorial Cup championship game.
