MIRACLE LEAGUE OF RIVERSIDE BASEBALL TO OPEN REGISTRATION FOR INAUGURAL SEASON
The Miracle League of Riverside Baseball will open registration for its inaugural season Monday, February 3, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. online.
Registration will be two-fold with both a call for players and volunteers where the former will be $45 to participate in a season of League play.
“We are excited to open registration for our inaugural season,” says Committee League Director, John Topolie. “Our goal for 2020 is a minimum of 48 players at 12 per team with 4 total teams to ensure round robin play.”
Volunteers who sign-up will be assigned to fulfill a myriad of duties and GameDay responsibilities but will also fill unique roles in the League’s Buddy program. The role of a Buddy puts the volunteer directly on the diamond and gives them the opportunity to work one-on-one with a player to enable their experience while providing encouragement in an all-inclusive environment.
“Volunteers will play a critical role in-event,” says Topolie “We encourage the community and local businesses to participate in our Buddy program to support the League’s participants.”
Individuals who do not have access to register online are welcomed to visit the Riverside Sports Centre (6865 Ontario St.) on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 (6:00-8:00 p.m.) to sign-up through traditional means.
Two (2) registrations will be contested out through the processes noted above for the inaugural season. Winners will be randomly selected through an online social media contest and traditional walk-up registration. Winners will be announced online Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. The gift of sport is sponsored by Ryder “Danjer” Renaud.
The Miracle League of Riverside Baseball will begin play on Saturday, May 23, 2020 on The Solcz Family Foundation Field at Farrow Riverside Miracle Park.
